Hi! We’re Kimberly & Kelley Smith, two sisters and native Washingtonians with a passion for creativity, event design and the gift of giving. For more than 10 years, we have had the pleasure of assisting family, friends, classmates and colleagues with the planning, design and orchestration of a variety of celebratory, business and community service events.

An introvert by nature, I enjoy the comforts of my home and spending quality time with friends and family. I embrace my type A personality of being a multi-tasking workaholic and enjoy creatively expressing myself through painting and writing of fictional novels. I love all things comfy, including fuzzy socks. Abundantly blessed and spiritually grounded, I enjoy volunteering and helping others – I definitely want to make a positive impact on this world. I am a hopeless romantic as evidenced by my favorite movies – Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing (nobody puts Baby in the corner.  LoL) While I work hard, I also appreciate relaxing vacations, especially those on tropical beaches where I can snorkel. Having the ability to use my creativity and immaculate organizational skills, while sharing in our clients’ special day, is a dream come true.

Favorite Color: 

Charcoal. Hey, don’t judge me. I love the versatility of charcoal. You can dress it up or you can dress it down. It compliments every color. It’s simple, yet bold.

Addiction:

I love to dance. Whether it’s salsa, meringue, bachata, hip hop, reggae, R&B, you name it, if there’s a beat, I can’t help but move.

Heels or Flats:

Hands down – flats!!!! Although when I find a pair of comfortable heels, I will wear them in the ground.

 

An Interesting Fact That People May Not Know:

I was an “extra” on Season 5 of the HBO series, “The Wire.”

A kid at heart, hopeless romantic and rather sentimental person, I enjoy the little things in life: quiet time with my husband, trips to the beach, a good laugh, birthdays and Christmas and flowers “just because.” When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, serving at my church, date nights with my hubby, volunteering with youth mentoring programs, interior decorating, reading a good book, going to the theater, attending live concerts, visiting amusement parks, spa dates and spending time with family and friends, I LOVE to entertain and I am infatuated with all of the intricate details that comprise a well-designed, fun-filled soiree. Event Planning & Design affords me the opportunity to marry both sides of my personality: the fun, creative, charismatic and lover of all things style and fashion side with my strategic, disciplined over analytical and problem-solving demeanor. I value my clients and consider myself extremely blessed to be afforded the opportunity to do what I love with someone I love… my sister.

Addiction:

I love nail polish! And on occasion have been known to annoy my sister and/or husband by polishing my nails in the car.

 

Heels or Flats:

Umm.... Heels, Duh! Stilettos, a peep toe pump, a strappy sandal or a cute pair of booties.… I have a shoe fetish and the sexier, the better!

 

An Interesting Fact That People May Not Know: 

After 9/11, I was detailed to NYC where I managed the claim process for personal injury (PI) claimants, and was responsible for well over 80 PI claims for the Department of Justice (DOJ), 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
